In this paper, an experimental study is performed for the subject of pneumatic conveying. Under the experimental conditions, fly ash is transported by compressed air in the horizontal and vertical pipe of 80mm in diameter and 210m long, at the state of high pressure, fluidization, dense phase pneumatic conveying. The performance of pneumatic conveying system is studied. It shows that on the best transporting condition, the key parameter affecting the whole conveying process is the pressure in feeder. According to the experimentation, the best gage pressure of feeder should be P_f = 0.4MPa, while the mass flow rate is Gs=12.9T/h, conveying velocity V=6.86m/s, the conveying solids/gas ratio m=50. The pressure drops in the horizontal, vertical and cured pipe are 1.132, 3.588, 10.789kPa/m. This study lays foundation for the further research and application of fly ash removal.
