Assessment of Groundwater Quality in Palar Basin of Kanchipuram Taluk, Tamil Nadu

摘要

The present study is the continuous monitoring of ground water quality in Palar Basin of Kanchipuram Taluk, Tamilnadu during the month of August 2004. The various water quality parameters like temperature, pH, EC, hardness, Na, K, Cl, HCO_3, Co_3, So_4, No_3, present in the water was found. The samples were taken from both dug wells and bore wells in both the hard rock and alluvium region were collected and analyzed. The study shows that the ground water is fit for drinking after comparing the parameters with International standards.
