A series of in-beam experiments using proton and α-particle projectiles on natSi target has been performed at the Louvain-la-Neuve Cyclotron facility. Inclusive data of double-differential and differential cross sections, as well as total cross sections of all possible light charged particles emitted (p, d, t, 3He, α) were measured. The data are compared with the predictions of the nuclear-reaction code TALYS. A detailed discussion of the model calculations and the modifications required to improve the description of the data is presented.
