Study of Sexism in English

摘要

Language and sex is a popular issue in the area of socialinguistics,a young subject in the linguistic field.Considering that there are a considerable number of misunderstandings of even miscommunication caused by sexism in lan-guage in various fields of life,this paper provides a detailed study of sexism in English.It also traces the reasons for the occurrence of sexism in English.As the creative part of the paper,it emphasizes the influences of the study of sexism in English on the English language teaching and learning.
