Microtrack model which simulates media noise in magnetic recording system, with vibration disturbances and noises from HDD, provides a realistic simulated environment for the study of perpendicular servo signal in ultra-high density (400Gbpsi) recording [1]. At high linear recording densities, media noise in the transitions is critical in evaluating the performance of the recording system. To facilitate the study of servo performance, we developed a fast and precise servo data simulator based on microtrack model [2][3] that includes the effect of partial erasure and transition jitter shifting to generate large streams of readback pulses for an input servo pattern sequence.
