Lorentz microscopy was used to study magnetization reversal and fluctuating magnetic structure in magnetic tunnel junctions (MTJs). We find that the processing conditions and magnetic layer thickness profoundly affect the magnetic homogeneity, ripple structure, domain wall formation, Neel coupling and reversal process in MTJ structures. Lorentz images were correlated with the properties obtained from alternating gradient magnetometry (AGM), magnetic force microscopy (MFM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM).
