Mandibular Reconstruction Using Cancellous Bone Graft Placed in Induced Membrane: Preliminary Results in Rabbit

The objective of the mandibular segmental defects reconstruction is to resume acceptable functional and aesthetic results. There are several methods to reconstruct those types of defects. But in patients with failure and/or debilitated operative site (radiotherapy, severe infection, osteomyelitis) or fragile patients, there are few alternatives: whether complicated techniques of restoration with important sequels or no surgical procedure. There is a lack of simple and reliable technique in those cases.The aim of this experimental study was to present data according mandibular reconstruction with iliac cancellous bone graft alone or with bone substitute in induced membrane using methylmethacrylate cement.
