Method for preparing cancellous bone grafts containing antibiotics for treatment of osteomyelitis and cancellous bone grafts prepared by the method

PURPOSE: A process of preparing a cancellous bone portion by absorbing an antibiotic in a cancellous bone portion and then freeze drying is provided. This bone portion can treat effectively osteomyelitis because it can supply a suitable concentration of an antibiotic to the affected part for a long period of time when it is implanted. CONSTITUTION: Calcium is removed from a cancellous bone portion, and the cancellous bone fraction is soaked in an antibiotic-containing solution to absorb the antibiotic in the cancellous bone fraction and then freeze-dried at about -20deg.C or less. The freeze-dried cancellous bone fraction is optionally coated with a biodegradable material such as blood.
