Every project, big or small is a temporary and unique endeavour which is also associated with certain amount of uncertainty. While an organisation can never be absolutely certain that a particular project will succeed, all it can do is to improve its chances of success by adopting appropriate project management methodology. Therefore, all projects, large and small, need to be managed in terms of proper initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and control and finally, proper closing processes. Again all these processes need to be applied to all or some of the ten functional or so called knowledge areas of the project as demanded by a specific project. Hence, Project Management on a standard framework is essential for the project owner (Client), service providers (Consultants) and project executors (Contractor) for project success.
