A new plant apparatus, ACASIA~R has been developed and thus the nitrogen and oxygen pick-up could be decreased during an Ar bottom bubbling which is usually applied to control the compositions and temperature of the melt and to help the flotation of inclusions in ladle treatment process. Through the 90-t plant tests, it is confirmed that an ACASIA~R can also greatly improve the surface quality of the hot and cold rolled coils and the titanium recovery due to an increase in the cleanliness of the steel melts.
