INSULATING DEVICE FOR THE REDUCTION OF THE REOXIDATION OF THE STEEL BETWEEN THE LADLE AND THE TUNDISH

摘要

This paper presents a method of reductionof the reoxidation of the steel between the ladle andthe tundish, by insulating the junction inferior inletof the ladle-ladle shroud with an inorganic fiber ring.This method was tested at the Continuous Casting no1 Plant from SIDEX and it provided significantdecreases of the O_2 and N_2 amounts in the liquidsteel, with important technical and economical effects.
