Production and counting of uncontained sources in the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory

I describe production and distribution of uncontained sources of ~(24)Na and ~(222)Rn inside the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO). These unique sources provided a uniquely accurate calibration of the SNO detector of its response to neutrons, produced through photodisintegration of the deuterons in the heavy water target, and to low energy beta-gamma decays.
