Through experiments on full scale segmental models of anchorage zone in pylons of three cable-stayed bridges (the 2nd Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, Runyang Yangtze River Bridge and Wuhekou Cable-stayed Bridge), make a study on tensioning technology of U tendons with small radius of curvature, the factors of safety against cracking and ultimate bearing capacity of anchorage zone in pylon are also studied. By comparing the serviceability of anchorage zone of three cable-stayed bridges, the optimal layout of tendons in anchorage zone of pylons is discussed. The results can be helpful for the design of pylons.
