Overcoming the Limitations of the ERP Paradigm: A Latin American Exploration

This article explores the issues of implementing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems in Latin America. The research highlights the main obstacles faced by the traditional ERP systems in this context, proposes an alternative paradigm to addresswith more flexibility and cost effectiveness the idiosyncrasies of the region, and describes some of the struggles associated with the development and implementation of such paradigm shift. Preliminary results suggest significant gains relative to traditional ERP implementations (*).
