Kyushu Institute of Technology Sr_(n+1)Ti_(1-x)Mn_xO_(3n+1)(n=1, infinity)(x=0-1) was synthesized and its crystal structure was analyzed by the Rietveld method. Optical and magnetic properties of these samples were studied. Difference in optical absorption spectra between n=1 (Sr_2Ti_(1-x)Mn_xO_4) and n=infinity (SrTi_(1-x)Mn_xO_3) were observed. Temperature dependence of DC susceptibility was measured using MPMS. SrTi_(0.9)Mn_(0.1)O_3 showed paramagnetic behavior, while SrTi_(0.5)Mn_(0.5)O_3 did antiferromagnetic behavior below 15K. Sr_2Ti_(1-x)Mn_xO_4 exhibits paramagnetic behavior irrespective to x (x=0-1).
