摘要

In this paper, the difference of conventional metal machining and vibratory metal machining is studied in terms of intrinsic machining parameters with the help of wavelet analysis. Theoretical and practical criteria are put forward with the cyclic touching and untouching between the cutting tool and the work piece, and with the comprehensive effect of the low cutting forces, low temperature, high surface integrity without BUE. Comparison is also made between the two machining processes with 0.45%and 0.20% carbon steels on the machine tool of CK6142, respectively. Results of experiments are processed with the wavelet analysis. The intrinsic-feature coefficients are determined, revealing the natural difference between the conventional and vibratory metal machining, providing the basis of efficient use of the vibratory machining techniques.
