The development of a High-Tech Product requires the following ingredients: new and innovative ideas based on the creativity of the developers and the research accomplishments in the relevant field, careful selection of the best solution taking into consideration the global markets, the available and required knowledge of the participants, an assessment of the costs, development time, manufacturing capacities, adaptability of the work structures integrated into the development and design network. The contribution presents the structuring of the adaptable networks, integrating relevant work units, able to develop and design an HT-product from the idea to prototype. The concept of the adaptable network structures is based on close and effective integration and cooperation of work units and teams, highly competent in: (1) a particular research field or fields, relevant to the functioning of the new product; (2) global marketing; (3) the engineering design of mechanical, electrical and electronics, as well as the software structures, with particular attention to control reliability, maintenance etc. of the product, (4) on-line learning in order to improve the competence of the participants; (5) virtual coordination with data, software and knowledge bases. These units are selected according to the criteria which must be fulfilled if an adaptable and competent development and design system is to be successful and efficient. The integration of these units and on-line communication between them are realized by LAN and Internet.
