摘要

Chromium Cr(VI) ion, which is toxic, finds its way into water streams as an effluent from industry as waste from various processes. The U.S. EPA has set a MCL for Cr in water at 100 ppb and California has set a MCL of 50 ppb. Several techniques have been used to remove Cr ion from water and includes activated carbons. Recent public concern regarding Cr(VI) in drinking water has prompted the investigation of new and improved materials which are low cost and have a higher capacity for more Cr (VI) removal at low concentration.
