A preliminary,computer assisted,3D-chromographic representation of all 16.7 million possible RGB colors in the standard CIE L*a*b* color space reveals important deviations from well established theoretical concepts.In first approximation,nature seems to have an uncanny way of confusing us when a certain color may exist only as a light color but is not to be found anywhere as a dark one(yellow).Or that some other color is not the result of a mixture of the two colors we expected,but that of two others(magenta).The implication for the practitioner is that the color he choses may not be quite as "cool" or as "hot" as he thinks...
