Approximately 150 delegates attended the A1 session day which was divided in two consecutive sessions, first a Paper Session based on the contributions received in response to the Special Report, and second a Panel Session on the subject of very large generators. This second session covered both turbine generators and hydro-generators. The meeting was opened by the chairman who reviewed the scope, structure, and activities of Study Committee A1. The chairman then introduced the Special Reporter.
