To study feasibility of propane-fueled ultra-micro combustors for UMGT, we evaluated that the propane/air flat-flame was formed in the Φ 20-sized chambers with a volume of 0.461 and of 0.921 cm{sup}3. Combustion efficiencies of over 95.5 % were achieved, but the flame stability regions did not satisfy the design operation point of the UMGT combustors. As one method to improve the flame stability, we prepared platinum catalyst and evaluated catalytic combustion characteristics in the chamber with a volume of 0.921 cm{sup}3. Catalytic combustion was confirmed to occur in the injectors, but the combustion performance was insufficient.
