Job Analysis: Cornerstone of Human Resource Management

Human resource management has become the instrument for organization to gain competitive superiority from traditional affairs tool, which has grown into a central issue for theorists and a focus for organization. While there are many problems, such as fuzzy appraisal standard, single angle appraisal and improper appraisal methods in the practice of human resource management in organization. To settle those problems, this article systematically lays emphasis on the whole procedure of job analysis, which applicates a position of the department head of graduate affairs office as an example. Collecting job analysis data usually involves a joint effort by human resource specialists, the workers, the department, and the worker's supervisor through questionnaires, which uses combinational methodology of qualitative judgement and quantitative counting. At last, the model application of job description of the department head of graduate affairs office is given, which is a useful exploration for organization to carry out job analysis.
