摘要

Melatonin has several functions, the main function being the control of circadian and seasonal rhythms, such as feeding and activity rhythms. Melatonin has also been described to inhibit food intake and locomotor activity in several fish species (Pinillos et al, 2001; Zhdanova et ai, 2001). This study was designed to evaluate the acute effect of melatonin administration on food intake and activity patterns in goldfish held under different light conditions.
