摘要

Marine aquaculture has registered a rapid expansion in the recent decades worldwide. In Italy, the different rearing techniques developed, intensive (both land-based and in cages), semi-intensive and extensive, provide fishes to the market all the year round covering mainly the internal demand. Gilthead sea bream is one of the most important finfish species cultured in the Mediterranean region and its production is still in rapid expansion. Intensively reared sea breams, especially those grown in land-based farms, have the advantage to be produced and harvested under more stable environmental conditions and controlled feeding management. Extensively reared and wild fishes are subject to considerable changes of the environment, but on the other hand,can benefit of natural food in their diet. In the present study the influence of 3 different culturing on the physiological state, nutritional quality and safety of the fish, has been evaluated.
