The educational activities of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific

We report on some of the educational programs and publications of the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (ASP) that may be of particular interest to scientists and educators who are involved with NASA E/PO activities. Founded in 1889, the ASP now has members in all 50 states and over 60 other countries, and is the largest general astronomy organization in the U.S. The ASP devotes a considerable part of its resources to education and outreach (in both the formal and informal arenas). As discussed below, the Society has several networks of educators and a range of publications and programs that could be of use to missions and projects that wish to test or disseminate their materials or activities more widely.
