Solid-State Preparation of Polyolefins via Olefin Metathesis

Olefin metathesis has proven to be a versatile reaction in organic and polymer synthesis.1-4 Important metathesis reaction include ring closing metathesis (RCM), cross metathesis (CM), ring opening metathesis polymerization (ROMP), and acyclic diene metathesis (ADMET) polymerization. Applications range from synthesis of small organic molecules from RCM and CM to macromolecules via ROMP and ADMET with various functionality in and pendent to the backbone.
