摘要

This paper describes isothermal precision forging processes of a magnesium-alloy upper housing.A model test using pure lead and FEM simulation were carried out to study the forming processes.Several technological methods were employed to reduce the forging pressure or to improve the die fill in the experiment.Isothermal precision forging,combined die structure and local loading method were used to form the upper housing.In order to improve the quality of product,preforming,final forging and coining steps were adopted.The experimental results show that isothermal precision forging is a reliable method to produce the upper housing.
