摘要

The paper describes a modified class-A, MOSFET-based, linear power amplifier, to be used in a precision active magnetic bearing (AMB) application. The aim for which the amplifier is being designed is for reluctance type actuators to be used in precisely positioning the shaft of a CD mastering device. The final goal is to increase the information density on optical storage medias. The amplifier design is based on a classic low-noise, single-ended, power amplifier. Static and small-signal dynamic models are derived and additional details on improving stability and performance of the amplifier are addressed in this paper.
