A DECISION PROCESS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF SHORELINE RESPONSE OPERATIONS

A decision process is described that supports the concept of management by objectives.This eight-step process is based on the definition of objectives and strategies,which in turn are evaluated with respect to feasibility and are applied to shoreline protection and shoreline treatment.Standard objective and strategy statements provide all management and operations personnel with a set of instructions or goals that reduces the potential for misinterpretation or incorrect application.
