Superheated steam, also known as the condition of steam above its vaporising point has a wide range of application. Its application extends from cleaning, sterilization, heat treatments, production of energy, drying and many more. Along with its increasing attention, the exploitation of superheated steam and its advantages in the drying technologies have been actively studied in the recent years. In the last decade, the incorporation of superheated steam in various drying processes have been well established with several existing commercial superheated steam dryers in the industry. The integration of superheated steam in place of hot air such in various conventional dryers have been successfully exploited to a vast variety of applications. In principle, any conventional hot air dryer can be transformed into a superheated steam dryer through various modifications although most reformations differs from another and are in general based the different drying imperative required.
