The purpose of this study was to gain an understanding of the effects of process parameters on tablet properties in the case of blends with lubricants. Magnesium Stearate has been widely used as a lubricant in pharmaceutical formulations for the past 50 years. Different studies have been published to explain the effect of concentration levels of magnesium stearate on tablet and blend properties. However, as much is the concentration of magnesium stearate important, so is the amount of energy that goes into its blending with the excipients.
