We discuss some mathematical problems connected to the study of (selfdual) Chern-Simons vortex theory (see [14] and [36]). We limit our attention to the two-dimensional case (vortex-tubes) and consider the Minkowski space R~(1+2) equipped with the usual metric tensor g = diag (-1,1,1).
