Marine Radar/ARPA Simulator Faces the Challenge of New Century Navigation

摘要

With the fast developing radar/ARPA simulation technique, more efficient marine training and assessment can be done safely and economically. This promotes IMO meets the new navigation needs in new century. However with the limitation of computer simulation, as the most available simulators in marine training and assessment system ― radar/ARPA simulators still have some unpleasant aspects which are not completely satisfy IMO relevant conventions. The simulation deficiencies at the present time are particularized in this paper as well as the future developing suggestions are discussed.
