摘要

This biography on the life and career of Dr. Robert Frankenthal was written on the occasion of a special symposium "Corrosion Science: A Retrospective and Current Status, in honor of Robert P. Frankenthal." This symposium was held in conjunction with the Centennial meeting of The Electrochemical Society, Inc. in Philadelphia, May 12-17, 2002. It was more than fitting that this symposium was scheduled for the Centennial meeting, given Bob's many decades of dedicated service to the health and well-being of the Society and the Corrosion Division.
