Many electronic assemblies have shrunk to the point where controlling the amount of oxygen in the reflow atmosphere is crucial for maintaining low defect levels. Different oxygen-level control processes exist, but data shows that the simplest and most effective method is to purge the oven cavity with nitrogen doped with a precisely-controlled amount of oxygen.
