Airborne particles have gained increasing interest from governmental bodies, the scientific community and the press in recent years. Exposure to such particles has been claimed by some to cause serious health effects while others believe that the risks have been greatly exaggerated. The objective of this paper is to provide information that could assist the reader in better understanding the issue of particles and the potential health risks.
