CROP PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS OF GOEMAR BM86~(R) ON ACALA AND PIMA

Replicated experimental trials were conducted during the 2001 through 2004 production seasons at the University if California’s West Side Research and Extension Center to identify any affects of a relatively new plant biostimulant on the production of Upland and Pima cotton types. Experimental treatments were established to identify the stimulants possible fit with a known beneficial growth regulator, Mepiquat Chloride. Goemar BM86 and GL44 (GA14)are products of the Agrimar Corporation that are foliar applied on cotton and other crops to enhance growth and boll retention and were evaluated with untreated experimental checks and plots sprayed only with Mepiquat Chloride. Plant monitoring data suggest that increases in yield are associated with increased boll numbers on the plant; however no consistent monitoring has identified specific locations of the plant that is responsible for the increased boll numbers. Numeric trends as well as statistically significant yield improvements were observed for treatments that contained BM86 and Mepiquat Chloride or GA14 and Mepiquat Chloride.
