The consumption of energy in general and its consumption in public premises can be influenced by organisational means. Public premises are taken as an example to illustrate strategies, methods and experience of 22 years of energy management. Topics such as controlling, organisation of tasks, communication, training, negotiations of (standard) tariffs and minimal investment are delt with in detail with a resumee and a check list with proposals for organisational means to follow.
