Notch effect in welded joints submitted to fatigue

摘要

This article is aimed at showing the differences between the Eurocode3 and the volumetric approach. Indeed the Eurocode3 is too severe for fatigue design as it does not take into account the constitutive nature of steel. But the volumetric approach, which is a very simple using method, provides a good prediction of the welding lifetime.
