Multiple heterogeneous operations that characterise complex processes can lead to increasing uncertainty in the production process. In these operations, there does exist an antagonistic relationship between scheduling, discrete events and the system global control objectives. This study presents a flexible intelligent and dynamic management, co-ordination and interactive control approach between the process and its environment in order to re-establish the control objectives with respect to a dynamic process environment and the process specifications that will guarantee its relative productivity. The study discusses a neural network based intelligent interactive control and management of the discrete events in a distributed production process.
