摘要

Auditory displays for autonomous mobile service robots in a human-machine multi-agent environment are developed and investigated. The service robot domain was chosen as an example for future use of auditory displays within multimedia process supervision and control applications in industrial, transportation, and medical systems. Several experiments have been performed. Human subjects have to learn, understand and recall auditory symbols with related meanings about spatial orientation and directional movements. Further, auditory symbols and sound tracks are presented in a supermarket scenario with a simulated environment of a mobile service robot.
