摘要

Thin films of compound semiconductors are suitable materials for fabrication of modern optoelectronics devices, including lasers, diodes, and photovoltaics. Electrodeposition has been used to prepare these films other than conventional methods, such as molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD). The method can be operated at ambient conditions (room temperature and atmospheric pressure). The cost of operation is cheap since no ultra-high vacuum system is required. In addition, precursor ions are less toxic than those used in MBE and CVD methods.
