摘要

The turning performance of waterjet-propelled catamarans is very different to that of propeller-driven monohulls. Nowadays the turning performance is almost always obtained by sea trials and model tests which are expensive and time-consuming. This paper presents a mathematical model of the manoeuvrability of waterjet-propelled catamaran, based on a simulation developed from a MATLAB/SIMULINK platform. The simulation results, which reveal manoeuvrability characteristics under different operational conditions, provide some useful guidance for naval architects and marine engineers.
