Teaching automation at the university of natal

Since 1996, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Natal has been offering an elective course in Automation. It has been a popular option for students in the Electrical, Electronic and Mechanical programmes of our undergraduate (BScEng) degree. This paper summarises the course content and explains the rationale behind the course.
