In recent years,hydrogels have received attention for use as extraction solvents1,for soft contact lenses2,for medical therapeutics and diagnostics3,and for drug-delivery devices4,5. A hydrogel may be described as a polymeric material that can absorb a significant amount of water while maintaining its structural integrity because of its three-dimensional hydrophilic polymer networks structure.
