摘要

Immobilization of proteins and peptides on solid surfaces is of considerable interest in many biochemical studies. Such studies include probing cell-surface interactions1,2,3 and inflammatory responses to implants4,5. Initial work in this area involved primarily simple protein surface adsorption. However, protein denaturation occurs readily upon adsorption6,7. More recently, the emphasis has shifted to studies in which the proteins are covalently bound to surfaces and thus more likely to retain their inherent structures and functions.
