摘要

Photosensitive monomers and polymeric materials have received a great deal of attention in different areas such as the health industry, lithography, semi-conductors and polymer coatings. In particular, the presence of α-keto ester and α-keto acid functional groups provide a route for decarboxylation reaction, allowing changes in the functionality of the polymer material upon irradiation with light. The photochemistry of α-keto acids and α-keto esters have been extensively studied (1), and the photolysis product is usually accompanied by carbon monoxide or carbon dioxide release. The release of gas during photodecarboxylation reactions can be a useful way in making expandable and/or porous materials for different applications.
