One-step synthesis of block copolymers via a dual initiator route combining reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer(RAFT) polymerization and ring-opening polymerization(ROP)
The present invention relates to a one-step synthesis method for block copolymers using a bifunctional initiator, wherein the method is in combination with: reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization (RAFT) and ring-opening polymerization (ROP); and to the block copolymers produced thereby. Provided is the one-step synthesis method for the block copolymers comprising a step of RAFT of methacrylate monomers and ROP of lactone monomers in the presence of 4-cyano-1-hydroxypent-4-yl dithiobenzoate, which is the bifunctional initiator, and diphenyl phosphate (DPP), which is a catalyst for the ROP. Provided is also the one-step synthesis method for the block copolymers comprising a step of RAFT of vinyl monomers and ROP of cyclic monomers in the presence of 4-cyano-4-(dodecylsulfanylthiocarbonyl)sulfanylpentanol (CDP), which is the bifunctional initiator, and 4-dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) or diphenyl phosphate (DPP), which is a catalyst for the ROP.
