RTV11~R and Intersleek~R are two polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) based elastomers which have attracted considerable interest for a variety of possible applications, in particular as fouling-release coatings (1,2). In spite of these potential applications, detailed studies of their surface and mechanical properties using highly sensitive surface analysis methods have seldom been a subject of detailed investigation (3).
