Poly(L-lactic acid) (PLLA) has received significant attention in recent years on the biomedical applications due to their excellent bio-degradability,bio-compatibility and good mechanical properties.PLLA has been largely used in orthopedic surgery,cardiovascular system and drug delivery implants.Although it is well known that PLLA exhibits the poor thermal stability due to its intrinsic hydrolytic degradability,one of most commonly used industrial approach to make medical devices out of PLLA is the melt processing such as melt spinning and injection molding.
